Adamski - Doctor Adamski's Musical Pharmacy

MCA DMCG6107. 1990

I got my first car in 1990. It was a 1970 Mark 1 Ford Escort. It used to belong to my Gran's neighbour. I remember seeing it's sky blue form over the fence as a kid. The neighbour died. My older brother wanted a car. They bought it from the family and set to work pimping it. My dad's mate, JW, owned a big plot of land dotted with outhouses, garage space, chickens and a caravan. And a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Sammy Langford after the boxer. They bought a bunch of spray equipment and transformed the stock ride into a metallic midnight blue mean machine with 5-slot Wolfrace alloys. It was a thing of beauty. Eventually I passed my driving test, and my brother went on to better machinery, so I inherited the car. It was a bright summer day when I picked it up from my parents' house. I headed home the short drive up the A1 with my girlfriend of the time, chuffed to bits with my new wheels. On the stereo was my cassette single of Adamski's N.R.G. The cassette player had an auto reverse, and the same tracks were on both sides of the tape. I wish I still had the car.

Some of this is still ok. Shame he sings on it! Rather narcissistic booklet full of portraits of himself. Seems wrong that Seal took all the glory for Killer. The version of N.R.G. on here is completely different to the single, and nowhere near as good. Must dig that out.
