Warner Bros Masters 9362-47899-2. 1976
Eeh, she goes crackers with an organ all over this one. I imagine her bent over it with clenched teeth and mad eyes staring at nothing. Stabbing away at the keys like Hartley Hare doing the tilling.
The first cut goes a bit big-band, but things get back on track after that. She puts her organ away for the odd harp moment.
Reminds me of that sketch on the Smell of Reeves and Mortimer. The fella who liked putting things in cider. 'I like to put my organ in cider'. [cue me giggling like a naughty 5-year-old].
The start of Morning Worship could almost lead into a Fuck Buttons track.
For some reason the album is rounded off with a rendition of Stravinsky's Spring Rounds from Rite of Spring, which I don't think is entirely necessary on what is, essentially, a jazz album.
