Circle - Prospekt

Ektro Records EKTRO-008CD. 2000

My first and favourite Circle CD. I bought this on that zoviet-france French roadtrip mentioned in the Beefcake blurb. We had a spare day in Paris, and came across a groovy little record shack laden with all manner of musical desirables. This jumped into my hand, I parted with €17 and never looked back.

This is relentlessly hard, aggressive and hypnotic. Huge repetative riffing that seems to go on forever, punctuated with organ stabs, violins and screaming vocals. The drums sound like they've been dropped into the mix from 10,000ft, they're so powerful. Someone had the bright idea of un-snaring the snare, and it kicks all our asses because of it.

If you're new to Circle, try this first. I guarantee you'll buy more.
