What was I saying about not being able to pin them down? This one kicks off like a forgotten Ege/Tago era Can track. It goes quite freeform from there, but still in a sort of Can vein, though lots of other stuff would probably spring to mind if I'd been paying more attention to this free-folk/acid stuff that's been popular lately. We get a bit of Ektroverde (Mika's more electronic project)-style synth in track 3, back to the free plinky-plonk on 4. Structure reappears on 5 with more Can-esqueness that gets noisy in the middle of its 12 minutes.
I'm going to stop describing the individual tracks now. On the whole, not the best introduction to Circle, but an interesting addition to the shelf. As far as free-form experimentation goes, this is at the worth-listening-to end of the spectrum. And at 75 minutes, a bargain.
I forgot to mention in the two previous posts that Mika sings in his own made up language. Dafty. Saves having to come up with things to sing about I suppose.
