I find it impossible to listen to The Mercy Seat without a lump in my throat and the hairs on the back of my everything standing on end. From the thudding bass a few second in, the dramatic epic horror demands 100% attention. Possibly one of the greatest starts to an album ever.
What follows is probably my favourite NC&TBS album. Dark and brooding, but eminently beautiful. It drops off a bit here and there, but all forgivable.
