A smile on my face as the tumbi knocks out the first notes at the start of 6am Jullandar Shere. I just bought a tumbi in London a few weeks ago after meaning to do so for years. I thought it'd be dead easy to play, just being a stick with a single string. I'm still trying not to sound shit!
This is a shambling mess of an album, but in the best possible way. The looseness and ineptitude are part of the appeal.
Highlights: 6am Jullandar Shere, 7:20am Jullandar Shere, Wog, My Dancing Days Are Done, Camp Orange. Basically, all the tracks that have some kind of Indian element to them. It seems to work.
